Greg's Station....

The "Memorial" in Memorial Day has been ignored by too many of us who are beneficiaries of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. Often we do not observe the day as it should be, a day where we actively remember our ancestors, our family members, our loved ones, our neighbors, and our friends who have given the ultimate sacrifice.

".......... gather around their sacred remains and garland the passionless mounds above them with choicest flowers of springtime....let us in this solemn presence renew our pledges to aid and assist those whom they have left among us as sacred charges upon the Nation's gratitude,--the soldier's and sailor's widow and orphan.........."

As spring turns to summer, Americans around the nation take this day to enjoy friends and families.  Let us remember how much was given so we could enjoy this day and every day in freedom. 

FRIEND FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE AND HERS

 

 This kind of thing is what makes our job as firefighters so wonderful and is just one of many things we do for our community and the families we serve. Whether it is human or not, because we see so much tragidy in our lives its nice to have the one or two things that we do that really do make a differance. That is why we love all living things and do the best we can do for them all two legged or 4 legged. But I will say we risk it more for our 2 legged folks but you all I am sure figure why that is and even then there is a point that we have to say sometimes its just way to risky even for us.

 

 She  is pregnant, he had just saved her from
a fire in  her house, rescuing her by carrying
her out  of the house into her front yard,
while he continued to fight the  fire.

When he finally got done putting the fire out,
he sat down to catch his breath and rest.

A photographer from the Charlotte , North Carolina newspaper, noticed her in the distance looking at the fireman.

He saw her walking straight toward the   fireman and wondered what she was going to do.

As he raised his camera, she  came up to the   tired man who had saved her life and the lives of her babies and kissed him just as the photographer snapped this photograph.
